CCGMS Sponsored Field Trips |

Field Trip Coordinator: Terry Stockman 360-452-4764 The club tries to schedule field trips throughout the year to places we can all have fun. Some trips are day trips around the Peninsula and others are trips to faraway places that can be for a week or longer. We publish the trips in our Ore-Bits Newsletter and on this web site. Also many day trips are organized and planed during the monthly business meetings and the info does not make it into the Ore-Bits Newsletter. So it is a good idea to come to the business meetings or check the club web site often to see what is going on. The club is always looking for field trips to sponsor. If you know of a field trip that another club has planned, or have a place in mind that you think other club members would like to visit, come to the general meeting, and propose the trip. You can also e-mail our club field trip coordinator with your idea at fieldtrips(at)olympicrocks(dot)com, or talk to any instructor or club officer. Please use the membership list you receive twice a year. If you do not have a current members ship list you can pick one up at the monthly general meeting or at most classes. |

June - 26, 2010: Field Trip Has Changed, please call Tom Ellison 360-460-1333 One day trip planned to West of Lake Crescent has been changed due to logging in the area we want to go. The new field trip is on the same day and times but to the fossil beds out at West Twin. We will also be looking for treado wood, poppy jasper, and black jade. The trip to the West of Lake Crescent will be re-scaled for late July or early August. Below is the information for the field trip: Tom Ellison will be taking members to West Twin to hunt for fossils, and other cool things. Please call Tom's cell phone right away and let him know if you are planking on going at 460-1333. Members who live in Sequim will all meet up at the JC Penny's parking lot at 8:00am on Saturday. We will be leaving Sequim at 8:15. The members who live in Port Angeles will meet up with the Sequim members in the Albertson's pacing lot at 8:40 at which time we will all leave Port Angeles at 8:50am heading to West Twin. Remember to bring good hiking boots, rain coat, and warm clothes a must. A change of clothes is also a good idea. We are still hoping it will not rain on this June 26th, a Saturday.
